Governance

The members of King’s Chapel join an association formally known as the Society of King's Chapel, and use a congregational system of governance. Our by-laws state that the Society’s purpose is “to maintain Christian worship and to engage in any other activities that are functions of a religious society”.

The Society’s elected officers are the Senior and Junior Wardens, the Treasurers, and a Vestry of twelve members. (Four vestry members are elected each year for three-year terms).

The Society also elects the members of the Parish Council, which consists of the chairs of the standing committees specified by the by-laws, and two members at large. This group discusses parish issues, makes recommendations to the wardens and vestry, and provides support for one another.

Additionally, three trustees, elected by the Society, oversee the church properties and certain endowments, which are held in trust.
